Michelle's reception

Grandma always seems to have the right words to make you feel like you either made a huge mistake or that you have her approval. I am positive that Grandma gave Michelle her blessing. Grandma is all about marriage :) Elizabeth found a friend to dance with. Don and Mindy pose for the camera, Mindy is the talented photographer that is used to being on the other end of the lens.

My Sweet Angels Bella and Daisy

These are the sweet little creatures that I get to come home to every night. They are always so welcoming and show such excitement when I open the door, there cute little tails are a wagging. Bella is the vocal one, she is the youngest. Daisy is a little more chill, more of a lady. I believe that all dogs come with personalities and Daisy was mild mannered and for that purpose she was the one that was chosen out of the litter. She was the most shy. I have had 5 dogs in the past and have learned that the shy ones usually end up being better pets, in my experience. Bella on the other hand is not shy. She is a little trouble maker, in fact She is always looking for something to chew on and she entertains her self all of the time. Daisy can be sleeping and then Bella will be running all over the house playing and wanting attention. She is so cute, and I love her personality, though she is more work, her spunk is endearing. She is a momma's girl, she follows me all over the house and she always sits at my feet when I am at my computer or sitting on the couch she is always on my lap.

I have noticed over the last few months, that they have not been eating as much and seemed like they were too skinny. I bought the kind of dog food that I had bought in the past for all of my other dogs, but they didn't seem to like it much. The only time they would really eat was when I put a little McDonald's on top, like chicken nuggets or gravy from soft dog food. I decided that I was going to make there food. I met Sherry, Joe's aunt at Ben and Nicki's wedding, and we were talking about our dogs. She told me that she made her dog's food and I thought that was a great idea, but never got around to asking her for the recipe, so I decided to finally get it from her and for those of you that have dogs, you can use it if you like.

Here is Sherrie's recipe
I use 1/3 protein, 1/3 grains and 1/3 veggies in the mixture that I conjure up approximately once a month. I cook beef, chicken or fish, add cooked grains (7 grains cereal, 13 grain cereal, oatmeal, rice, quinua, etc. ) add chopped veggies, usually frozen mixtures which can be purchased in bags of mixes (try to stay away from corn mixtures because they don't digest corn very readily) and when mixed place about 1/2 to one cup in a snack zip lock bag. Place all the little zip locks into a gallon size zip lock and freeze. I can get at least two servings out of each little zip lock bag. Bogey is ten pounds so 1/2 bag is plenty for him. At his dinner time he gets 1/2 a bag, some canned green beans and a dollop of nonfat cottage cheese (for his calcium) and his tail is just a-waggin. He loves this combo, even the broccoli and cauliflower. Give it a try. I'm sure they will love it and you only have to prepare these delights once a month.
If you use beef, start with 5 lbs of burger, drained of fat, 3-4 cups cooked grains, 3-5 cups chopped veggies.

Grandma's Birthday Program

There was a cool program that Ellen prepared

First of all there was a sideshow of Grandma and all of her years. It was really cool to see all of the photos of her as a little girl and as she was a young women, then marriage and children and all of the service that she did for the church with my Grandpa. When she had young children, my Grandpa was a mission president in Brazil twice. Then when they were older, in 1986-89 Grandpa was called as executive secretary to the Asia area presidency. In 1991 they were called as the area Welfare Specialist for the South America North Area. In 1991-93 they served a mission in Quito, Ecuador. They have spent all of there life in service to the Lord.
After the slideshow, my Aunt Ellen, my Mom, Aunt Jeanne and Aunt Ellen sang the song of the owl and the Duck, a song that they sung as children. :) Then Natalie played Harry Potter's Wonderous World (and she did a dang good job!) Ellen sang O Solo Mio, a song that she had sung in the past, it was a comedious song :) Then Collen and Grandma sang a hilarious song called Sweet Ivory Soap. My mom did a skit that she had done as a little girl called What he wanted, Then the Willards sang I am a child of God, it was so sweet, cause Amy bore her testimony afterwards about her love and gratitude for Grandma's life and example of bringing the gospel into all of our lives. Then Ace and his boys sang Brightly beams our father's mercy, then all of the Grand kids sang to her, Rachel wrote words to You are our Sunshine. This is how it went.

There was a redhead, her name was Ida
She was the talk of the whole town
So when Ace saw her, he planned to get her,
So, he wrote these lyrics down.

You are my Sunshine, my only sunshine
You make me happy when skies are gray
You'll always know dear, how much I love you
Please don't take my sunshine away

The redhead beauty could not resist him,
And so she said she loved him too,
They quickly married, they were so happy
And these were the words, he'd often coo.

You are my sunshine, my only sunshine
You make me happy when skies are gray
You'll always know dear, how much I love you
Never take my sunshine away

Before she knew it, she had a family
Her seven children adored her so
They grew up quickly, yet as they left home
The seven sang this when they'd go

You are my sunshine, my only sunshine
You make me happy when skies are gray
You'll always know Mom, how much I love you
Never take my sunshine away

Her family blossomed, with many grandkids
she taught them songs and verese and charm
There was much laughter, love did abound there
The simple tune continued on

You are our sunshine, our only sunshine
You make me happy when skies are gray
You'll always know dear, how much I love you
So we say: parabens pra voce!

We love you Grandma

how sweet huh? I thought so. Grandma loved it when he grand kids would perform, she always wanted us to perform musical or any talents at any family get together, we didn't always think it was that great of an idea, but it made her happy so that is what counts. She trained all of her daughters and sons to be musically read or to perform. So, in turn to see her Grand kids do that, was 10 times better.

After we had the program we had cake and lit the 90 candles, it took like 5 of us to light it, funny huh?

Grandma's 90th Birthday Party

Today is my Grandma's 90th Birthday party. I am so excited to go to her party. She has 7 kids and each of those kids have anywhere from 4-7 kids on there own. The total number is in the 30's. We are having it at the Lion House and there will be a lot of people flying in that I have not seen for a long time. I understand that we will be receiving a copy of her life history. She has been working on this with my aunt Ellen for a long time and now finally we will get to read the real thing.
