Grandma's Birthday Program

There was a cool program that Ellen prepared

First of all there was a sideshow of Grandma and all of her years. It was really cool to see all of the photos of her as a little girl and as she was a young women, then marriage and children and all of the service that she did for the church with my Grandpa. When she had young children, my Grandpa was a mission president in Brazil twice. Then when they were older, in 1986-89 Grandpa was called as executive secretary to the Asia area presidency. In 1991 they were called as the area Welfare Specialist for the South America North Area. In 1991-93 they served a mission in Quito, Ecuador. They have spent all of there life in service to the Lord.
After the slideshow, my Aunt Ellen, my Mom, Aunt Jeanne and Aunt Ellen sang the song of the owl and the Duck, a song that they sung as children. :) Then Natalie played Harry Potter's Wonderous World (and she did a dang good job!) Ellen sang O Solo Mio, a song that she had sung in the past, it was a comedious song :) Then Collen and Grandma sang a hilarious song called Sweet Ivory Soap. My mom did a skit that she had done as a little girl called What he wanted, Then the Willards sang I am a child of God, it was so sweet, cause Amy bore her testimony afterwards about her love and gratitude for Grandma's life and example of bringing the gospel into all of our lives. Then Ace and his boys sang Brightly beams our father's mercy, then all of the Grand kids sang to her, Rachel wrote words to You are our Sunshine. This is how it went.

There was a redhead, her name was Ida
She was the talk of the whole town
So when Ace saw her, he planned to get her,
So, he wrote these lyrics down.

You are my Sunshine, my only sunshine
You make me happy when skies are gray
You'll always know dear, how much I love you
Please don't take my sunshine away

The redhead beauty could not resist him,
And so she said she loved him too,
They quickly married, they were so happy
And these were the words, he'd often coo.

You are my sunshine, my only sunshine
You make me happy when skies are gray
You'll always know dear, how much I love you
Never take my sunshine away

Before she knew it, she had a family
Her seven children adored her so
They grew up quickly, yet as they left home
The seven sang this when they'd go

You are my sunshine, my only sunshine
You make me happy when skies are gray
You'll always know Mom, how much I love you
Never take my sunshine away

Her family blossomed, with many grandkids
she taught them songs and verese and charm
There was much laughter, love did abound there
The simple tune continued on

You are our sunshine, our only sunshine
You make me happy when skies are gray
You'll always know dear, how much I love you
So we say: parabens pra voce!

We love you Grandma

how sweet huh? I thought so. Grandma loved it when he grand kids would perform, she always wanted us to perform musical or any talents at any family get together, we didn't always think it was that great of an idea, but it made her happy so that is what counts. She trained all of her daughters and sons to be musically read or to perform. So, in turn to see her Grand kids do that, was 10 times better.

After we had the program we had cake and lit the 90 candles, it took like 5 of us to light it, funny huh?
